here’s the deal….the old man ( not that old actually, he’s 33, but that’s what i like to call him) is interested in putting on some size. he’s 6’5, about 225 lbs. has a nice built, a basketball players physique, but wants to mass up. any suggestions on muscle building & recovery products & upper body workouts to put on size. all suggestions would be very helpful & appreciated!!!!

Should i target one group of muscles a day(i.e. monday-shoulders, Tuesday – chest, Wednesday- Triceps,) or Work secondary muscles i.e.(Monday-Upper Chest, Biceps, Tuesday-Middle Chest, Triceps, Wednesay-Front Deltoids, Quads) Which is more effective or better?

Both will work well as I have done both with success. Your best bet is to try one for a while and see how it goes then try the other. Another benefit to that is that changing things up every once in a while is also good.

I’ve been on the following split for quite a while:

Day1 – Chest and Biceps
Day2 – Back and Triceps
Day3 – Shoulders and Traps
Day4 – Legs

Off days vary from 1 to 3 days a week. I’ve been making gains and feeling good about this one. When I stop liking it or it stops working I’ll change it up! Hope that helps.

I often hear people say how sore they are from working out the day before. If you dont feel this overwhelming soreness the day after Working out, are you not building muscle? Does someone who has this soreness at an advantage, in the sense of building muscle, over someone who doesnt have it? If you need this soreness, what could be the problem that is preventing this soreness? Please tell me anything you about this subject.

Soreness is what you want to avoid. It means you have damaged the muscle—- catabolism.

You can train your body to build muscle WITHOUT breaking them down if you’re smart. You will build muscle faster because you skip the stage where the muscle have to repair( soreness) before it can build

Light weights, high reps, lots of stretching, lots of aerobics, balance (bosu) and core training until you are ready to puke. Basically, you want to build a body that:
#1 Can tolerate a lot of practice
#2 Will permit you to play at 80% effort

If you intake artificial proteins, steroids then only it will seriously harm your body @ older age but if you built it slow and steady with natural foods and proteins then it won’t harm you ahead and you must know how much weights you body can tolerate to do repetitions.. as i said if you take steroids to increase your capacity.. there you will be royally jacked.. Last year i saw at discovery that body builders are hollow men from inside due to steroids.. they get death with organ failures and non-convincing way. these body builders accept that for fame they are ready to put their lives on stake.
